Rep. Lantos received extra credit for sponsoring an amendment to H.R. 5522, the Foreign Appropriations Bill. The amendment would have increased humanitarian aid in Darfur by $50 million but failed in a full vote before the House.
Rep. Lantos received extra credit for co-sponsoring the China Resolution on Darfur in 2007.

On May 9, 2007, Rep. Lantos wrote a letter to the Chinese President urging China to use its significant influence with the government of Sudan to end the atrocities against innocent civilians in Darfur.
