Rep. Lipinski signed on to Rep. Higgin’s February 12, 2008 letter to President Bush. The letter encourages the President to increase the U.S. diplomatic effort on Darfur.

Rep. Lipinski wrote a letter (PDF) to Sec. Condoleezza Rice in April expressing strong support for an appointment of a special envoy for Sudan.

Additionally, in May 2006, he spoke at an event in the Rayburn Building about the Armenian Genocide. Rep. Lipinski specifically mentioned the need to not only remember genocide of the past but to take action and do something about the current genocide in Darfur.
