Rep. Higgins wrote a letter on February 12th, 2008 to President Bush. The letter encourages the President to increase the U.S. diplomatic effort on Darfur.

Rep. Higgins co-signed with the Rep. Capuano led letter to Sec. Rice to clarify administration policy towards Sudan.

He co-signed with the Rep. Frank led letter to Sec. Rice urging the appointment of a Special Ambassador for Sudan.

Rep. Higgins co-signed with a Rep. DeLauro led letter to Appropriations Chairman/Ranking Member to include Sudan funding in the Emergency Supplemental.

He co-signed with the Reps. Schwartz and Tancredo led letter to President Bush urging him to make Darfur a central item in his discussions with Chinese President Hu Jinta.

Rep. Higgins worked with students from our local schools, specifically those from Buffalo City Honors, who have become local leaders on the issue and are doing a really impressive advocacy job back home.
